Equipment:

All players MUST wear shin pads.  Players will not be permitted to play without them.

Grades 5/6 will continue to play in sandshoes, with small goals.  Again this year, Grade 7 Mini-soccer players should wear football boots, as we shall be playing with larger goals, and with goalkeepers.  All older grades will play in football boots (pimpled soles, blades or studs).  In addition to appropriate footwear, all grades need:

Royal blue knee length socks, shin pads and royal blue shorts.  Blue Rovers will supply team shirts.

Shorts & Socks Brand names are as follows:

“Lotto Approach” shorts (Junior size cost $30 & Senior size cost $35)

“Fenix” socks (cost $15 no discount)

These are available from Wright Sports who will supply all necessary gear and equipment at a 15% discounted price to club members.  Please take the Wrightsports Voucher on the website.

It would also be beneficial for players to have their own football.  The more time players spend kicking a ball, the better they will become.  The club will of course supply balls for team training sessions; these will be sized in accordance with Western Bay of Plenty Junior Football Association guidelines, which are as follows:

Grades 5 – 8: size 3

Grades 9 – 13: size 4

You may therefore wish to obtain an appropriately sized ball for the players in your family.

FEES / REGISTRATIONS 2010 – CLOSE OFF DATE SUNDAY 28 FEBRUARY

Where do our fees go?  We have to pay affiliation fees to the WBOP Junior Football Association, Force Three Regional Board and to New Zealand Football. Affiliation fees are necessary in all sports for the betterment of the sport nationally.  These funds are used for: administration costs in all areas of the sport, aids in player progression and player identification, coaching courses for players, courses for coaching coaches etc.  The balance of fees is then used in our club for administration expenses, gear and equipment purchases, end of season prize giving, all tournament fees and coaching course fees.  All Blue Rovers committee and coaches are volunteers.
