Welcome To Blue Rovers

Welcome to Blue Rovers Junior Football Club.  We serve families primarily in south Tauranga.  Into it..... Website current to 22th May 2012.

Scroll down for the weekend's draw. You can check your teams draw for the year, results and league table at the waibop website. Follow this link and scroll down till you find your division (in the "WBOP Juniors" section).

Urgent help needed this Sunday.  The club's prestigious Vincent Green Tournament is on this weekend and we need help.  We especially need CBR's to help with the reffing, but we also need parents to give an hour or so to help set up, help during the tournament, and pack up.  Please give us an hour or so to make this tournament another success.  You won't be roped in for the day - just give as much as you can.  Contact Mary-Ann on 578 8932 to find out what time helpers are needed.

The (grade 11 only) Vincent Green tournament is Blue Rovers most well known tournament.  It is to honour one of the clubs earliest members who was tragically killed when he was a grade 11 player.  This year marks the 41st Vincent Green tournament - it is a key part of the club's culture.  The tournament is widely respect and attracts club's from as far away as Auckland.  Please help this year a good one.

Grade 8.  Here is a note from the league co-ordinators about your games.  After this weekend we will be placing the teams into divisions of 6 teams and they will play over 5 weeks (except the bottom division which will be 7 teams over 5 weeks) These are called the Preliminary divisions.  The finishing place in the Preliminary will determine the Championship placements.   We will be hoping to finish the draws by Thursday and ask that if you get your confirmed results into Goalnet on Saturday night then we start on the process and have it finished earlier

Draw for 26th May.

Check your spam folder.  Coaches and co-ordinators will be sending out emails.  As these are going to groups messages may be intercepted and sent to spam.  You need to check this and redirect them or you will miss out on vital communications.

Courses are available for coaches and refs.  Book now.  Remember - the club will pay for your attendance.  Please have a look at the WAIBOP reffing policy.  All G10 and above Prem teams and G12 and above reserve teams are required to have a CBR (club based ref).  If the opposition has a CBR but your team doesn't then they get to ref the whole match. If you reckon you can't spare the midweek time to coach a team then become the team's ref.  We will pay your course fees and you get the best view of the match.

Whole of Football.  You may have heard this term over the last few months.  It's a new intitiative being run by our national body and involves a complete restructure of the way football is run by clubs throughout New Zealand.  Blue Rovers will be running an information/demonstration session when we have more information.

Join the committee.  This year, due to several members finishing their time with Blue Rovers, the committee is left rather slim.  This great bunch of people could really use your help.  When the work gets shared around it is manageable and enjoyable.  If too few are left to do everything they will burn out and the club suffers for it.  Please consider offering to help out for a year or so.  It is good for your children to see you more involved in their activity than simply a sideline supporter.

Old boots lying around?  The club would love to have your old boots for use by other players.  We are currently getting requests for bigger sizes so if you want to help some players out please check your garage or where ever you keep them and get them to Mary-Ann 578 8932.
